Membership Requirements
The primary requirement for membership is an interest in horseless carriages. That does not mean that our members don’t have other automotive interests as well. Quite the contrary! However, the purpose of this club is to promote the very early cars.

Active Membership is available to anyone owning a running and authentic pre-1916 vehicle.

Associate Memberships are available for everyone else.
Note: Voting rights and serving on our board of directors are restricted to Active Members; there are no other distinctions
Our current membership has an interest in some segment of the old car hobby. Many members are professionals with careers in various fields and share an interest in restoration details. We also have some that are primarily interested in the history of the automobiles. In short, it is a diverse group with many common interests and a willingness to share knowledge. Consider us a support group for horseless carriage addicts!
Events & Gatherings
The LJRG holds a number of events throughout the year, foremost of which are vintage car tours. The emphasis of this club is on the use and enjoyment of these historic vehicles. Members participate in local and National HCCA events, developing and enjoying friendships all across the country. Many members also gather informally on Saturdays for a weekly lunch meeting to discuss upcoming events and to exchange information.

The Horseless Carriage Club of America (HCCA) was founded in Southern California in 1937 by enthusiasts who recognized the need to protect early automotive history. Today, it is an international club with regional groups worldwide, specifically focused on pre-1916 vehicles.
The La Jolla Region, founded in 1958, stands as a dedicated chapter of the HCCA, focused exclusively on preserving the spirit of the pre-1916 brass era and its vehicles.
